Engaging People of Different Faiths
In this session, Prof Irving Hexham discusses tips on engaging people of different faiths, based on his highly-respected book Understanding World Religions. The book won an Award for Merit from Christianity Today.
Irving left school at the age of fifteen to become an apprentice gas fitter in England. An evangelical conversion at the age of eighteen dramatically changed his life and led him to the Swiss L'Abri where Francis Schaeffer encouraged him to study religion and philosophy. He obtained his BA from Lancaster University and MA and PhD from the University of Bristol. He has published twenty-three books including Understanding World Religions (Zondervan 2011) and A Concise Dictionary of Religion (IVP 1996). Currently, he is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Calgary.
